I never really tracked them until my friend started working out and wanted support. Now I use an app and we like and comment on each others workouts. Pretty comfy.

Honestly almost all those fitness apps are shit. There's this one guy who has a billion followers on LinkedIn who made a fitness app and he's an obese tranny. it's fucking hilarious.

But yeah, I track everything in a regular composition book. All the most serious athletes I know don't use apps because they don't want to be dicking around on their phones during a workout. The only exception is if you're running because it'll track both your mileage AND your times, but even then, you have to hold htis bulky ass phone while you do it or get one of those uncomfortable sweaty shoulder straps.

Garmin watch. Its pretty good at detecting rep counts and movements, so I don't have to waste time playing around with a device during the workout.

I use a Google spreadsheet I can pull up on my phone to track lifts. Takes a few seconds after each one.
Other than that, I only use a heart monitor and Strava to track HR during workout. Unnecessary really, but Iโ€™m a whore for more data, and itโ€™s nice to be able to see how my perceived exertion matches up with actual.

Just a notepad in my phone. With periods between sets because it's oddly a hassle to find a competent spreadsheet app that doesn't have intrusive shit attached to it, or ads or something that's going to pop up a lot when I switch back to it from another app. I do one heavy set of my major compounds after a warmup. Then the rest of my work is pause sets which I only track sums of reps on with approximated rests. So really only one number to plug in.

Google sheet, i also have a tab for tracking literally everything I eat. I am annoyed how anxious I get if I don't track something, though.

I also use Hevy. Only downside is there are some obscure movements I do and I had to make custom exercises. Also volume tracking can be weird when doing unilateral movements if you're not doing it consistently. I do like to compare myself to others on it tho. Pretty funny

jetfit is buggy and will destroy your data
