Just did 1*5 1pl8 for the first time ever yesterday. I've been doing sets of 60kg with the aim of getting to 4*5, but after the last set I do one rep every minute until I can't. I think that helped me over the line.

Single arm dumbbell is good for increasing barbell ohp strength. It's my main for shoulders and I've done 1x6 135lb barbell.

Where are you getting 4x5 from? Where are you getting all 5's from?

Lifting a heavy weight is tiring. Your reps should be diminishing down. If they aren't you aren't lifting heavy enough. Aim for 7-6, 5, 4-3. Supplement with dummbell OHP.
