What's the general opinion on AI generated workout routines here? Are they actually effective?

AI is the future, it's just a "cool" thing to hate on it

The routine is like 5/10
And it's 100% going to be longer than 1h.

Don't do cardio before lifting. it'll just make you gas out way too quickly for your lifts.

pushups and floor press serve the same purpose. remove the floor press because honestly it's not a very good exercise.
If you want chest isolation do Fly's , for tricep do skullcrushers.
The rest is ok. I'd probably throw in some lateral raises.

They're effective because literally anything is effective if you go hard at it. It doesn't really matter what kind of workout you do; all that matters is the intensity and gusto you bring to it.

better than 99% of the stuff posted here
i legit think /fit/ is bottom barrell when it comes to fitness advice, even ai slop is leagues better than everything i read here. People always comment "muh go to reddit" but thats where unironically the decent content is

I'm just starting so I figured cardio could help me ease into physical stuff.

My ChatGPT workout is 8 sets, 9-12 reps each. Pretty basic-bitch full body routine. One minute of rest between. With a 5-10 minute rowing session to get the blood pumping and all the muscles warmed up, it does take me an hour to finish.
I then follow it up with 30 minutes worth of massage chair and hydro massage, talking with other gymgoers.
Yeh it's planet fitness.
I don't think of it as something taking away from "me" time because it's all "me" time.
Must improoooooooooooooov

I just use it to format it into a nice 1 page checklist I can print out and make notes on. I used to ask it to give me the plates for the bar, and like half the time it would get the plate math wrong.

Why would you need AI to make you a workout routine? There are plenty of existing resources in books, posts on the internet, etc. Getting an AI to write you a program sounds like reinventing the wheel

It's hard to find a specific training plan when you don't have a simple problem like "I'm skinny and need muscle" or "I'm fat and need to lose weight". I have more specific issues, and AI actually helped me more than any reddit routine that treats everyone the same.

AI is great which is why I waste everybody elses time by making them double check its homework every time I ask it some inane easily googlable question.

If you beg it enough it's the perfect tool. On a similar note thinking of making a fitness based gpt wrapper and market it to normies would that be a good idea?

You don't need it, but you can go over your workouts and progress with the bot and use it to find improvements. If you're just asking it to shit out a chest workout, you'll get generic shit as a result.

It's more convenient and likely safer than using /fit/, and some retard who can't spot obviously shit advice would just as easily listen to most of the obviously shit advice here.

>fitness based gpt wrapper
These already exist on their gpt marketplace or whatever. You can create your own easily enough with Projects, too. It's a decent idea, but running an llm isn't cheap and you might burn through cash extremely fast.

If you are serious about it, just try it locally and see how it runs. It's easier to just run a model, it takes a lot more work and resources to train it.

Yeah, I get that. They're not cheap to run, not cheap to train. You're likely not running this on a phone, let alone the average pc. Running it on a server is expensive.

You need to realise what AI is. Youre looking at the average of the internet regurgated at you. Is it good advice or redundant? Both. Depends on who you are and how much you know.

You're also looking at nearly the entirety of written text, research, etc. Which doesn't change what you said, it can be good, bad, or forgettable.

Fortunately I can feed it whatever text I want and tell it to not be a mouthbreathing retard and it'll do a halfway decent job.

Would using a aws server and a couple lines of code (to prevent a leak that's similar to what happened to the tea app) work fine with ai?

its a bit of a yes man, and God forbid you attempt to go against the grain it just breaks, but its the best option sadly
