Every eight weeks I take a full week off, then a second week of light volume.

lifting depends on if I have been on point for making it to the gym. If I am only there for 3 days in any week I'll go up to 3 months before a deload. I still show up and swing weights around and often hurt myself because why wouldn't I want to 30 reps, it is super easy. Plus I work on form without respecting the weights like I should.

My nofap and ashwagandha off weeks managed to line up and I am fucking grumpy and getting 3 hours of sleep a night. I just finished my 3rd power nap on the couch since Tuesday. The fucking 5th can't come soon enough.

That's not a deload. That is a week off.

doing first de-load but its an active de-load. Basically getting a pump with no fatigue, 3-5+ rir slow and controlled. I'm cutting so i'm also eating slightly closer to maintenance but still in a teeny deficit. Actually maybe not as I quit my physically demanding job yesterday so my NEAT has tanked but whatever. I've been pushing every set to failure for last 6 weeks and this last week I really went nuts so its definitely time to give myself some chill.

I can't-not go to the gym for a week because I run the chance that on day 3 I will buy a large pizza and case of beer and it will turn into a 6 month break from the gym. At least I know my flaws.

don't skip - either do 50% weight / volume or do 0% and just do whatever shit you don't really isolate heavily. Abs, forearms, traps, calves, rear delts, mobility exercises etc.

Or a combination of the two

Usually once a month or every six weeks.
Sometimes just take it easy for a month too if work and life is making it so recovery isn't optimal.

Well, i've only done one deload so far because my birthday was coming up (only in gym for couple months now) and i made sure to still keep a consistent diet and rest. Actually it was a little over a week. and i actually went up with my lifts. My body does seem to react good to it and actually need it because i can actually feel my body healing troughout the week. But i trained in the past so i'm not shy from really pushing myself in the gym.

These days I feel like every time I hit a PR, even if it's just a couple more reps in my volume training, I need to deload or take a longer rest.
