One of these. You get a functional trainer with the footprint of a single pole cable tower.

if you want to save space, you need electromagnetic resistance, not bulky weights. but that's expensive.

A barbell and power rack with pulley attachment and land mine and dip bars and pull up bar all in one can get you 90% of the way there. If you get a bench to put in the rack you can do
Deadlift
Bench presses
Squats
Pull ups
Dips
Lay Pull down
Triceps push down
Facepulls
All manner of things with the land mine
Ohp, t bar row, ive even done standing chest flys with the barbell.
Barbell rows
Ohp barbell press
Barbell lunges
Straight barbell curls
I mean the list goes on and on.
Get some rubber bands for band Pull apart and whatever else you want.

Get a few sets of logically sized dumbells and you can do all your shoulder work. If you have room get a trap bar and do deadlift, farmers walk and shoulder shrugs. All of those packs nicely into the footprint of the rack. I have done that home gym life for the last 5 years and its great. The functional trainer is also amazing and adds a ton of variation to your gym for almost no space. Make sure everything is plate loaded so you can just use the same weights everywhere. If you have space for a rack with attachments you've basically got a full gym.

Get a half rack, you have no need for a full power cage. Ideally it has an extra set of uprights in the back for support and plate storage. It's good for pullups, and like the other guy said attachments for dips or a landmine. You don't need name brand, but you want to make sure it's decent build quality and follows a few standards. 3x3 uprights is best but 2x2 can work especially if it 2 sets of uprights, you want either 1" or 5/8" holes, 11 gauge steel but 12-14 can work, you want a set of spotter safeties at least 16" long ideally more. Probably around $300.

A good adjustable bench. Most people don't need decline. Most people don't give a shit about attachments for it, but some companies like ironmaster go crazy which can be cool. Make sure the highest position is 85 degrees not 90. This is something you want to get from a good company like REP, expect to pay $300-400 for something nice.

A barbell. A ton of companies make them, again no amazon chinkshit. $200 minimum, up to $350. You probably want a general purpose 28.5mm training bar with no center knurl, avoid anything marketed as a power bar or with aggressive knurling. Stainless steel is the best, then cerakote, then zinc or oxide. Avoid chrome coating unless specified as hard chrome.

Plates. Bumpers are cheaper than iron and can be dropped. The cheapest crumb rubber can be very thick and limit how much weight you put on the bar, but homegrown lifting has a thin 45lb plate offered for close to $1/lb. The only virgin rubber that is $1/lb is CAP, next best would be fringesport at $2/lb, anything more is overpriced meme olympic competition shit no home gym needs.

Adjustable dumbbells. A serious dedicated pair over 50lbs per dumbbell will be over $500, expect to pay closer to $1000 for 80lbs or above. Otherwise you will want dumbbell handles with a small set of 5/10lb iron plates, make sure it's 2" olympic sized, Titan's the best deal at $100. Use good lockjaws, your teeth depend on it.

I need to replace my bench. Also get dumbbells. Doing curls with a barbell feels retarded.

It gets the job done. 5 years and no issues. Added a sled for pushing and using the dog sled for dragging.

Would be nice with better flooring but then Iโ€™ll have no roof height left.

Those are shit quality and only go up to bitchass weight. If you mean buying heavier fixed dumbbells each time you need more weight then that is horrible value. At that point just get something good like ironmasters.

Tractor supply has horse stall mats, 4x6 feet 100lbs, about $50 each, only 3/4" thick so you should have space. Super durable, can be cut if you need to. Carpet tape can help keep them in place if they move a little, but maybe not in your case.

The floor is uneven and the building is built on top of a mountain so itโ€™s not like I can just remove some rocks and make it even, I have to raise the flooring and make it flat and then put mats on it.

Iโ€™ve tried most things and my solution was to just put โ€œflooringโ€ where I need it. If I need an even area I just move my stuff outside.

A heads up, doing 300m farmers carry with just rope tied to bumpers hurt like fuck. I saw it coming but was already committed.

Plates and those nylon one handed bar handles to load them on
All I currently use because I'm poor but you can do lots with them
Bands or kettlebells might be better but I dislike them

Also guys please help me with an idea
Due to complicated circumstances about foot and ankle pain I can't run or walk much beyond already bring on my feet at work. My concern isn't my legs they are actually my most naturally developed part and I used to run a lot, my problem is my cardio is shot because one of my lungs got damaged, again long story. For now I need a way to build my cardio back up without my feet or using a lot of money.
I was thinking of trying to build my own rowing machine, I have some thin plywood lying around and maybe with that and some boards and some sort of cord and big spool and springs I could make it? Any designs or advice, or other ideas for upper body cardio?

Thanks in advance for any help, I have to sleep before my shift tonight so if it's 404 before I wake up I won't be able to reply
