That said, if I get a coronary and have to basically become a vegan I'll totally go the McDougall route. I can make any diet taste good. And boy do I miss eating unlimited steamed rice. John would shame me for my onions sauce and kimchi a bit though.
It would be cool to just eat like Mayan food for a while. Roasted corn and beans and weird roots and peppers or something. Or his supposed gladiator diet of beans and barley. Might be interesting. But the catch of his way is you can hardly have any fat at all. I don't mind missing sugar, but I like fat. And fat and carbs don't work well in conjunction unless you have a different appetite and metabolism than I do. So I limit my carbs to less than 30g a day. And I don't want snacks and huge portions when I eat that way.
Respect to McDoog, but that shit is last resort. I'm going to have to have a DMT spiritual awakening or some shit to give up delicious animals.
