I wear earplugs as much as I can, but there are times when you need to be able to hear instructions, so accidental exposure is just the norm. Most of the guys out there are already deaf and too retarded to even bother anymore.

Fellow tinnitus enjoyer here, got it at age 26, being both a musician and a surfer. High pitch, I visualize it as a rainbow of frequencies.

When It started I became really depressed and suicidal, now it bothers me a lot but learned to deal with it.

It may be worsened by TMJ, as I suffer from bruxism and I'm inclined to think its parasites. Any experience with cleaning parasites?

Apparently wanking causes tinnitus. No fap/semen retention allegedly can cure it but I can barely make it past a week.

Can sympathize. I have six different tinnituses, all at different frequencies and activating in different situations. Last three came from just having a severe inner ear infection after flu. Really takes a lot of enjoyment from life.

Your brain eventually learns to screen it out. I couldn't sleep when I got it as a teen, now I barely pay attention to it. In fact, reading your post made the EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeEEEEEE come back into my perception, thanks asshole.

Me too man. Chainsaws and concerts are what did me in. I'm half-deaf at 30. Don't truly need hearing aids yet, but I ask people to repeat themselves constantly.

tinnitus has to be genetic. I've played in bands growing up and blasted music for years.. Sure my hearing aint 100%, and maybe 1-2 a month I'll get a ringing that lasts 10 seconds that goes away.. But I've never had permanent tinnitus.

Tinnitus is not the ear itself, it's the brain trying to process what the ear should be able to hear, but doesn't anymore. It's a feedback loop of the brain expecting a certain frequency response, not receiving it because the ear is damaged, then trying to interpret that lack of signal as a constant frequency.
The way I stop or "update" my brain is really just to realize this fact. Once you realize it's all in your head, your brain can actually adjust itself and understand that it shouldn't pick up on frequencies it can't hear well anymore. The brain updates itself and by sheer will, it will stop trying to make the noise. Concentrate on it.

I fix my 2 day tinnitus when I told my brain to stop being retarded and to please account for lack of frequency response, brain listened and my tinnitus is gone.
You guys need some self-control. And yes, your physiological functions are a part of you that can be controlled by sheer will, stupid faggot.
>>76426385
It's not genetic, it's just that your consciousness has a better hold of your unconscious functions that it's able to update your hearing module to account for different frequency response.
