I'm going to spend a couple weeks backpacking alone on the mountains, I need some calorie dense and lightweight foods recommendations if anyone has them, trail is pretty hard, around 100 miles and 30000ft elevation gain so I need to fuel properly.
I'm also very prone to blisters so tips on that are highly appreciated. Thanks y'all.
I have never made it before, but you should make pemmican and tell us if it's any good. Change your socks frequently to keep your feet dry.
>>76425937 (OP)Think this is what jerky is for
Last (and only) hike I went on I took Jacobs crackers and cheese, and gummies. Was kind of a mistake because I felt sleepy on the second leg, sugar crash probably
I can't give advice on blisters either, I only did 20 miles and by the end the whole underside of my pinky toe was hanging off
Bump anyway, good luck fella
>>76425937 (OP)Peanut butter, jerky, MREs
>>76425971500-600 kcal per 100g is definitely worth looking into that. Google keeps recommending me dried nuts which is fine but I don't want to eat only that.
>>76425972Kek, thanks mate.

>>76425937 (OP)Don't do it. You will die.
>>76426045Statistically highly unlikely.
which trail homie.
>peanut butter(the density makes up for the jar weight)
>protein bars(or whatever really)for ez snacks while hacking, chips, gummy worms if no trail mix
>if stove some of those knorrs or ramen
>tortilla if not
>dinner is tuna/summer sausage/cheese
hiking extraordianre here all in all it doesn't matter try to get cheap shit, peanut butter is the king you can just eat a spoonful while hiking if ya want, id probably bring a stove dinner is rather bleak without one you can dump if its too heavy kek. I think this was one of my day resupplies on the at, a lot of misc shit i get from hiker boxes
>>76425937 (OP)Could a layman do one of these? Also canned food probably .
>>76426167canned food is too unnecesarily heavy.
>>76425937 (OP)>>>/out/Go back to your containment board FAGGOT
Protein bars for me desu, and speck cooked over fire. Drink sugar water (for me it was elderberry syrup)
You will get more scared than you thought previously
That first night is gonna be a blast, you'll see Bigfoot coming and ripping your arms off under every bush
After you'll ease in and by the end you'll be OK. I think that's why civilization was built. People can't handle the wilderness long enough to accommodate, which happens within a few nights.
>>76425937 (OP)>going on a 100 mile mountain wilderness backpacking trip>doenst even know basic shit like what food to bring or how to take care of this feetholy shit you retards are beyond help

>>76425937 (OP)you can hike like 20 miles in a day, and you can do 40 if you don't sleep. just bring some meth and like a 16 piece nuggets with some honey mustard and knock it out in 48 hours. don't forget to bring a glock 17 so that you can fire at the people hiding in the woods at night.
>>76426123Utmb
>>76426167Why would one carry canned food, shits heavy as fuck.
>>76426262Eat shit, bitch.
Tbh it's not the utmb but it has this retarded pass and I'm not experienced enough to do it, definitely not alone. It's a circular trail so this shit is bothering me.
>>76426320this sounds like a joke, but bringing a small handful of pills like ritalin or adderall is something some remote hikers/outdoors people do "in case of emergency." like if you needed to hike through the night, are lost and need to curb your appetite and move 16 hours in a day.
if you're hiking more than 10-20 miles a day the answer is always peanut butter.
for blisters, i use band-aid water block tape, and keep a needle + lighter on hand to pop them before dressing the blister. there might be better solutions out there that distance runners know.
>>76426373what the fuck is the utmb nigger?
You think everyone in the world knows what you're talking about?
>>76426510>doesn't immediately recognize utmbThere no way you do backpacking regularly, no way, faggot.
I used to backpack in the Himalayas and shit. But at my decrepit age I can no longer. (32) Learn to make a peanut butter sauce for pasta and eat that. Also bunch of nuts and dried fruits, jerkey, tuna cans, cheese. With more people you can branch your diet out more. I made calzones in the middle of the Nanda Devi national forest area on a camp stove.
>>76426726lmao its some gay europoor trail.
Sorry Sergay, but we have real trails in America that dont just go village to run-down village where you stay in huts and hostels every night and sodomize each other
>>76426941Your trails sound pretty lame desu
>>76426387whyd you lie saying your doing something your not? fucking weirdo kys
