Retarded.
It would make sense if food was natural, but most of it has been meticulously engineered to be as addictive and cheap (unhealthy)>>76449191
as possible.

It sounds like a good idea until you try autistic ultra planned healthy eating, and feel the best you've felt in years.
It's all so stupid: both your intuition and science will align, if you just let them and don't get sidetracked by ultra processed food.
The science part is a good starting point, and if you dig deep enough, a finish line too. But you could get there with intuition as well, if you are very in tune with your body.

it works well if you find the right set of rules that resonate with your body and your mind

it would make sense if your intuition wasn't retarded and fucked by zog since birth.
you are matter wrongly configured, your instincts must be bent into shape before they can be trusted.

its a stupid concept in the modern world since our body naturally craves the most calorie dense foods

if your hunger awareness is mature enough to distinguish between emotional eating, entertainment eating and real hunger it is likely to work.

i would say 90% dont have this.

calorie counting is easier and more convenient because numbers dont lie.

intuitive eating is only allowed if you eat 100% clean and no calorie-dense food.

Why do so many people resist the idea of just counting calories?
It is really not that hard and gives you complete control over your bodyweight

It is pretty hard and mentally taxing. When I count calories I find myself naturally just eating the same foods every day rather than have to create a new spreadsheet for every meal. To weigh every ingredient and tally up the calories is a tremendous friction being added to cooking. I suspect a lot of you fucks just go to chick filet or eat packaged foods, or are autistic.

there's nothing inherently wrong with the concept, I guess. I don't like that fatties have co-opted it to push their stupid ass fat acceptance. in theory, if you're the type of person who eats when you're hungry and stops when you're full, you'll probably alright, and that's what an intuitive eater is supposed to be. the problem is that too many people are fucked in the head and have no self control, the have "a bad relationship with food" so they can't really just intuit themselves to healthy eating. so here's what I agree with:
>eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full, don't overeat
>don't deprive yourself of foods, there's no such thing as "good" or "bad " food, only food.
>address the psychological underpinnings that have led you into being an anxiety ridden nutcase who can't stop obsessing about diet and food
but here's what I disagree with:
>you can eat whatever you want, as much as you want, any time you want without restraint or compromise
>any sort of restriction is going to set you up for binge eating
>diets are inherently damaging to the body
>perhaps you should be happy in the body you're in rather than managing your diet to achieve better results for yourself

basically, when it's used to help people with their food addictions and other mental illness, then ok. when it's used to justify stupid concepts like HAES and fat acceptance, no bueno.

I kind of take a hybrid approach of this,
there are certain foods eat without placing a limit on them, and there are those that i eat on extremely controlled and precise amounts
there are certain foods i simply cannot eat at a calorie surplus before my body physically tells me "no" so im not at risks at overeating,
fish, lean meats, eggs, leafy greens, cottage cheese, ect..
any carbs that are not from leafy greens are carefully measured out,
if i eat bread that day it is exactly one slice of bread, if i eat rice, it is exactly three tablespoons of cooked rice . ive been losing a great deal of weight this way but more importantly my a1c went from 9.2 to 5.1
