Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Eat processed foods.
Drink your calories (alcohol, soda, Starbucks).

I don't get it. For the last few weeks people near me have been complaining of keto smell even when I should be nowhere near ketosis with my carb intake.

To be fair, first 2 days are the worst in a fast, then day 3-4 are best in my experience, from there it's just a slow decline up to day 7, then it gets horrific.

You should sit down and consider, honestly and in-depth, why you hold the belief that taking the harder way is inherently more valuable than the easier way.
And no I don't mean you should take ozempic, fuck that, but there's ways to make normal weightloss easier and you'd be a retard not to. If anything it helps, because one day your discipline WILL fail you, and on that day you will fall. If you don't have systems and habits in place at that point that catch your fall and allow you get back up, you will fail spectacularly. Believe me, I already did.

I'm crashing out, I read up on it and everywhere says that keto breath is a side effect of ketosis, as the ketones created make the smell.
Then they say it goes away within a week or two as you "adapt to the diet".

But either it's a part of ketosis, in which case I don't get why it goes away (a fact none of the articles mention conveniently), or it's a side effect of the change and not the process itself, in which case I don't get why all the articles lie about it.

The point was that I shouldn't be in ketosis since I'm not doing keto, far from it actually. There should be no ketones and hence no keto breath.

the problem with all these studies involving what works and what doesn't is there always seems to be someone with a vested interest in one way or the other, so its hard to be sure how accurate the results truly are, it doesn't help that a crapload of them contradict each other, so clearly some sort of chicanery it going on. I kind wish there was some rich eccentric billionaire type that made no assumption and truly wanted to known purely out of intellectual curiosity and pulls a stunt, where he starts funding a bunch of studies for something unrelated to weight loss, perhaps drugs or multivitamins for boners or or hell maybey just studying the effects of cubicles on health. the studies claiming to be studying something else while having strict diet control on subjects for i guess science reasons: low carb high fat, high fat low carb, and various other combinations of other marco ratios and diets. . so the when the inevitable meddling of the powers that be do happen they are not aware of what the guys true purpose is and so what they are manipulating arn't sqewing the actual results in one way to anyones favor.

I am 5 days in and 2.8 lbs from my low weight.

Jfc. I have very consistently lost 2.2 to 2.6 lbs per week for 8 weeks straight here.

Brothers i eat around 1600 kcals daily for a month and this weekend i planned a cheat meal. This unfortunately unlocked the fatty binge mode that i thought i got rid of and eat so much shit. Alright. Struggling to hit my goal weight of 160, so Im calling it at 162. Gonna just maintain until I go to japan in a week and a half. After hitting a goal weight of 156 from 250 last year, I really wanted to try bulking while lifting. It was a lot of fun and I got to eat whatever I wanted for over year. I dont know if I can recommend such a dirty bulk like I did, but I gained quality size and was able to keep the muscle as I dieted off the fat slowly over about 4 months. Bulked up to 186 and got down to 162, arguably leaner than I was at 156. Here's my weight loss and gain timeline.

SW: 250 (Not pictured)
December 2021 Top Left: 230~
March 2024 Top Right: 156
April 2025 Bottom Left: 186
August 2025 Bottom Right: 162

Diet was 1800-2000 calories a day and 140g+ protein. Ate mostly yogurt, lean ground turkey, chick fila sandwiches and salads, ninja creami protein ice cream, and roasted veggies. Lifted 4-5x a week with a full active recovery deload week every 5th week. Cardio near daily. Started with 20 minutes of stationary bike and then ramped up to 45-90 minutes per day depending on how I felt. Lots of nights I got woken up from the leg doms and my legs stiffening up. Im now doing 30 mins of hill sprints 3-5x a week to peak my cardio. My goal when Im back and lean bulking is to increase my running speed as much as possible and get a bit bigger. All I can say is try to follow a progressive overload weightlifting routine when you hit your goal weight, accept a bit of rebound weight (maybe not 30 lb like me lol) and make the most of it to grow some muscle! Now its just time to hold this weight for a bit and let loose in japan. Good luck with the weight loss and if you have questions let me know.

I often didn't eat until like 2 or 4 pm but I eat so much then that it kinda cancels out
There were a few days of fasting completely I think. Not many and I don't think any 2 consecutive days.
But if just minor intermittent fasting and occasional fasting is enough to maintain then switching to actual fasting should have the weight go down quickly.

Just have it once in a while. Think of it as allowing yourself to let the excitement for a good meal build instead of just pigging out on it all the time. Having a good meal is about appreciating it. You canโ€™t appreciate a good chicken fried steak or tenderloin biscuit if you eat 9 of them a week and barely pay attention to it while you eat it. I'd recommend meal prep instead of fastfood. You make a big batch of all your meals for the week on your day off, individually package them, label them monday/tuesday/ect, then you just grab the package for the corresponding day and reheat it at work during your lunch break. When I was fasting the first 48-hours always sucked and all I thought about was food, then at some point the hunger would just go away and I was fine for the remainder of the fast. I used to do 5-day fasts where I'd fast Mon-Fri and refeed on Sat-Sun. Monday/Tuesday always sucked and took all my willpower to get through, wendnesday-friday were easy as fuck, and didn't think about food at all. I always thought it was weird how my appetite would just evaporate as the fast continued, then once I started eating again I got ravenous and it was a struggle to do anything but think about food.

Im sure its better to keep a consistent schedule so your body is fasting a set amount each day, but the way I see it, as long as Im eating one fat meal instead of two fat meals a day+snacks+sugary drinks like I normally would, then thats a win.

All of the hair on the bottom helf of my legs (below the shins) fell off because of reduced bloodflow/circulation from being so horridly fat and sedentary. After about 7 months of exercising and some fat loss, the hair is gradually returning to my legs. The left leg is regrowing hair much faster than the right for some reason, but I'm just glad it's growing back at all. They might look completely normal again before this time next year.

You shouldn't stop until you're comfortably in the 10%~20% bodyfat range. 15% is pretty much ideal for men, the exact weight on the scale and BMI is kinda irrelevant, they're just way easier to track than body fat percentage. Can't expect people to get weekly DEXA scans.

You can be a "healthy" weight according to a BMI chart but have like zero muscle mass and shit bone density and be at 30% body fat and look and feel like shit. Conversely you can be "obese" weight according to a BMI chart with 12% bodyfat because you've got so much lean mass.

- snack as in "little meal": A cracker or rice waffle with canned fish (mackerel or sardines) and hot sauce. Skip the rice waffle to further reduce kcals.
- snack as in "actual snack": Vegetables cut into batons, Kohlrabi especially is peak, but also carrots, apples, stuff like that (go light on the fruit like apples, due to fruit sugar)
- sweets: Frozen grapes, 0 kcal drink made from sirup

My two cents: go to the restaurant, don't bother counting if it's too hard but try to make good choices. Stick to the plan and strictly count calories for the rest of the week and see if it had an effect on your projected weight loss when you weigh in. You can adjust your expectations from there. I make slushies using zero-calorie water flavoring syrups like Mio or Stur.

You can make a huge pitcher of the stuff and just eat it for hours. They're full of artificial sweeteners and shit if that's something you're concerned about, but zero-calories is hard to beat and it gives you something to mindlessly shove into your face if you're bored and want something to mindlessly shove into your face. Stur tries to minimize the 'harmful' ingredients like dye and sucralose, again if that's something you're concerned about.

do you need to walk 10k steps a day to lose weight? no, as we talked about it's all about energy balance. however walking is really really good for you, and you should absolutely do it. not only for the physical benefits but also for the mental benefits.

so in short, yes you should absolutely be getting 10k steps a day if possible.

Level 1: Braindead

Multiplied by amount of grams

Example: 100 grams of tomato sauce containes 76 calories. You used 320 grams of tomato sauce in your dish.

76 / 100
= 0,76 (calories per 1 gram)

Level 2: Elementary arithmetics
We can use parentheses to skip a step (now you're playing with math)

(76/100) * 320 = 243,2

Level 3: Moving the decimal
Since we are dividing by 100, we can actually just move the decimal two times. We can do this in our head and we really only need a calculator for the multiplication

76 calories per 100 grams. I move the decimal in 76 two times = 0,76.
Let's say its a three digit number instead 776 calories per 100 grams, I move the decimal twice and it'd be 7,76
