Heavy weights will add and strengthen myofibrils, endurance will stretch sacroplasms to store more glycogen. If you wanna look like a bloated douche, focus your weight routine on strength and for each strength day, do a separate athletic workout day. If you've never been involved in any sports or martial arts, I guess it's closest to crossfit but not with heavy weights. I only do bodyweight on endurance days. But yes pushups are gonna give you more of the stupid looking bloat you desire than bench press. That's the pump brah, flex that inflammation.
