The upper middle class is the most mentally fucked class there is. They spend all of their time and money aping the wealthy and desperately avoiding things that might put their status in question. Meanwhile the wealthy view them with even more distain than they have for the poor. Yuppie life is beige, paranoid, and disconnected. Tradition, culture, and ethnic identity is preserved by old money and the working class. The wealthy and the poor don't neurotically obsess over authenticity or appropriateness, they just do what they want to do, their status is ensured by forces greater forces than their credit score and twitter cred.

This article is 11 years old and before the social media lifting craze really took over. The dynamic is totally different now. The upper middle class npcs saw the societal shift are are obsessed with lifting now, even rich CEOs are all on trt and getting jacked.

pure jealousy. Every man in the world wants huge muscles but they dont wanna lift no heavy ass weights.
So they cope by saying bodybuilders are gay, stupid, have a small dick etc etc

I’m a man but I don’t want huge muscles. I want a disproportionately fat ass, a tiny waist, and big ass titties.
I also want my dick to be small and permalimp.
What do you make of this?

nope, i just want that lean twink build with visible shoulders chest and abs with no real mass at all. huge muscles is just being fat with extra steps. the silhouette of rich piana is barely distinguishable from the silhouette of a fat person, they're both just huge blobs of shit.

ITT wounded, fragile "manhood".

But anyway, huge muscles have always been a sign of lower class, world-wide. I guess Americans and other 3rd worlders are the odd ones out with their working class and physical bulk fetishism. But overall, this isn't anything new. "Toned and trim" has always been the ideal at least since Europe overtook the world over a century ago.

No. Men want to be strong, not necessarily big.

The problem is that we can see through gymcelling, when comparing how little the returns are.
You either have functional strength that is actually not functional, or brute strength in set parameters. The meme "lifting a perfectly calibrated hand fitted metal bar and attachable metal plates" is real, it's an actual meme that gives men the illusion that what they're doing is worthwhile.
Most men are stuck with interchangeable peasant masculinity; lifting and most sports, when graceful masculinity can be just as accessible considering how much effort and punishment gymcels put themselves through (and get nothing out of it.)
Truth is, most physical things can be turned into art, Vulgar turned into Noble, but only when the façade of usability/functionality/usefulness is discarded and it returns to it being art; the thing in itself for itself. In simpler terms, whether you do it or not, it does not change who you are, meaning you don't identify with it.
Again, the meme "so besides lifting, what are your hobbies anon?" is real because most men identify with the activity that they do. They take a pride in lifting or sports. They are a bodybuilder, or mma, or bjj, or boxer, or powelifter. All mere labels.
Then theres the consumerism aspect driving gymcelling; consider all the products marketed to men such as protein powders, drugs and equipment, supplements and attire. The Noble pursuit looks for mastery not consuming, the simple training and its skillful strength is in contrast to the brute force that needs "usefulness" by helping someone lift a couch or washing machine once a year. Noble Masculine men exist as objects of admiration, Vulgar Masculine gymcels exist to be instrumentalized (military golem or workhorse.)

Eh, not really. Basically, sports are a replacement and preparation for warfare OR a thing about moving for health. That's it. Anything else is degenerate and wrong. As we can see clearly nowadays, in pro sports and on here, ofc. The mere idea of PEDs, for example, would be completely hilarious to ancient people (except Greeks when they started degenerating). Why even bother with being the world's best at what is nothing but a preparatory exercise, while ruining your health? Asinine.

Wrong.
>viewing the bodybuilder look as vulgar overcompensation for wounded manhood
Right.
Bench pressing a lot and having muscle is good. Taking drugs is bad. Pumping up the sarcoplasm and taking vanity pics for instagram is gay. Prancing around a bodybuilding stage starved and dehydrated, spraypainted and greased, wearing nothing but a faggy grin for the judges approval is insane.

For girls like this, it's not enough to just have a good body, you've gotta have status AND cash.

If you don't have a social media presence... the tour is over boyo. Pack it up. I'm talking MINIMUM 2,500 followers on insta and that's a really low number. What kind of male gets this amount of followers? For 1, being jacked, diced, and of course the money to be able to at least allude that you have an interesting life. For me, it's the car scene. I'm already jacked so sprinkling gym selfies on my profile is already in check. Rolling videos in the Shelby with a The Soft Moon song playing in the background? Yup. Flexing outside my SUV to the women know I own 2 cars? Check. It's a mog eat mog world and only the moggiest fuck women like this

And before some string bean zoomer talks about "I fuck and am skinny" yeah, that works for girls who are 18 and under but once you become an adult you're competing with the big dogs. And anything under $150,000 a year gets you scrapS

Lifting is now for incel self-improvers, third worlders who think they can get white women, and old guys who've still "got" it. Get your cardio up, get into sailing and rowing like a White man.

You can be muscular without being a bodybuilder, in fact the modern nobleman is partially defined by an active interest in health and wellness. I am rich and muscular but also think roidcels are gross.

Yes. If you get super strong as a natty lifter, you'll just get fat. All the powerlifters with big muscles are all using roids.

However you can get super fit and get really good endurance as a natural. Bodybuilding for natties is retarded but fitnessmaxing isn't. Richer people understand this

Lol they have terrible bodies. Jeff looks good for mid 50s but most would call him DYEL. Elon is actually fat but is losing it.

Tate looks good for 40 but again his physique isn't super impressive either.

It's sad that more people don't talk about this. People always default to shitting on naturals instead of just telling them to do more bodyweight and endurance type activities. You can aim for a sub 5 minute mile, running a half marathon etc if you need to aim for some goal
