When i binge, i do one meal of a moderate amount of slop, being the slop in question (european) mcdonalds, kebab, kfc or taco bell. I usually lose weight the day after. I try to not go overboard with the calories or amounts because it severely fucks me up the next few days, i dont go crazy over slop, but i do it to remember myself why am i doing this and i find it totally not worth it, i always end up thinking its wasted time and progress

same, I used to have too high of a deficit in previous weightloss phases so id binge hard as fuck on the cheat day on lots of donuts and fast food because I was burnt out, and then id feel like shit for days after. I reduced the deficit and now my cheat day is just eating a normal amount of foods that don't traditionally fit my diet.

I'm trying to go to a nice restaurant instead of eating sloppa to recondition my brain that exceptionally enjoyable food is of high quality prepared by talented chefs, not high fat high sugar sloppa in a bag or served through a window. It also has the benefit that a nice restaurant typically doesn't serve hambeast portions and it would be well out of my budget to binge eat there, as well as somewhat make up for the lack of nice dates my girlfriend gets as a result of me being gym obsessed. However often our schedules dont line up and I opt for fast food.

Neither. For me, it's a nice beef pastry most of the time, with some raisins, orange peel, and a bunch of spices.
Strangely enough, I can't see a difference between extreme calorie restriction (~500kcal / day) for two weeks at once, or for 2x5 days with a binge weekend inbetween - always lose 3-4kg, which I then gain back within a week (apparently mostly water + a bit of fat that I regain as muscle - belly circumference goes down, while weight stays constant). I'm still around 5kg of fat away from fully visible abs, though.

I binged last night by eating a bigger dinner than I needed to, and then gave in to cravings and had a snack. Blew my deficit by 600cals but still had a net deficit for the day.

I've only cut a few times in my life so I'm not sure. But my understanding is that all the calorie counting, estimating calories burned from workouts, tdee, etc. is just a basic model that you have to check against your actual weightloss.

If you aren't losing weight, but you are consistently tracking everything, then the trick will be to increase your deficit. 1900 calories a day is a pretty good budget to work with so you could probably restrict further and still get enough protein and fats.

I'm running ~50 miles a week right now which is why even with a -800 calorie target deficit I should still be able to eat like 2500 calories a day. It's cutting on easy mode because I still get to eat a huge amount of food and that makes it easy to feel full.

What kind of exercise are you doing right now? Any zone 2 cardio? What are your height/weight and target weight?

(4-6km thrice a week) Thinking of increasing it to ~5 days of cardio tho because I'm more comfortable about endurance of my body now, nolonger fearing it could spontaneously combust upon extra effort. Sounds reasonable to me. Just heads up that depending on your schedule, may be easier to just increase the amount that you're walking, which is just as good for weight loss. I'm only burning so many calories running because I'm ~200lbs, 6'2", and running quite long and far.

Also, be aware that increasing the amount you exercise will make you hungrier, so you gotta ease into it or at least expect a few tough days at the start while your body adjusts to the workload.

I'm religious about hitting my protein, carb, and fat targets because otherwise I literally can't recover. As with anything — listen to your body, don't overdo it, don't do anything too drastic, and use your weight trend as your guiding principle. Going down fast enough? Keep doing what you're doing. Stuck at the same number? Increase deficit.

I've never helped someone your size lose weight before and I'm not an expert but I stand by my earlier advice —increase your caloric deficit, probably easiest to do it by restricting your intake but also consider more zone2 cardio through walking, jogging, or cycling. Watch your weight, measure things, don't expect overnight miracles, and don't be fooled by daily variance and water loss.

Thanks anon, I'll try to be careful about that. So far I'm managing fine but maybe it's because my deficit isn't big, weight loss is going slowly. Don't really mind it, as long as I get stronger and sturdier but faster pace would be cool.
I kinda don't like walking too much because I get bored quickly, even if I do stuff on phone. If I lived in the mountains it would be a different story because hiking is awesome but city's pavements aren't very fun and local area gets boring quickly. Would cycling work instead of getting the steps in? This way I could go to farther areas and the process would be a lot more interesting.
