Don't be a moron. Past a certain age, you consistently lose muscle (unless you start roiding in your 50s). What you need to do is build as much muscle as you naturally can then keep lifting to minimize the loss. This guy who runs the gym I used to go to did full on bodybuilding and powerlifting his entire life and can still RDL 365 in his mid-70s. He can push himself up and over large objects to do home repairs and runs marathons regularly. He has more function than most guys in their 30s. What's your goal body? Mine is 75 years old with a 365 RDL.
