has anyone used one of these machines? shit rocks

>works the lower back like crazy
>extra glute gains on top

only downside is once you get decently strong you can max it out quick but just get a gym pin
Anonymous No.76817167 [Report] >>76817190
I only ever see older people, 60+, on these machines. Maybe I'll try it the next time I train my back.
Anonymous No.76817180 [Report]
These selectorized machines all look the same to me. i swear it's like 2 mods away from being a curl machine why can't they just combine them into 5 in 1 or something

I use to use these machines when I was a teenager and i'm the only dude I know in my 30s with zero lower back issues.
Compounds are a meme, you can't beat literal isolation in the safest form for lower back.

counter argument though.
while the lower back is bulletproof, I have a tendency to develop kyphosis symptoms after a few months that I have to stretch out pretty regularly.
which directly correlates with having an overly strong lower back.

I mean have you tried it?
These machines are goat dude.
Set up 60-80lbs, just enough to feel muscles activate. 10 reps in you can feel the lower back warm up.
By the time you're done with sets you'll feel a soreness you've never got with any other workout for lower back. It feels amazing it's like you can feel the ql muscles sliding the nerve tissue through them.

The one I did at planet fitness maxed out at 300lbs I repped out on it easily 10+ reps untrained never done before. I'm a calisthenicsfag

Yeah you can reword it however makes you feel better about yourself but my lower back easily repped out 300lbs of resistance as measured and calibrated by hammer strength

Well on the machines that use pulleys instead of levers there'd be greater resistance due to inefficienxy, if anything. The lever machines use plates. The plates you use are off, if anything. I almost guarantee you're not using calibrated plates which means you b
could be lifting 50lbs less than you think. Say you do a 5 plate deadlift and they're off by 5 lbs you do -50lbs 5 plate dead. Anyway your meme is fake and gay.

Yeah I use one every other day just because it is there and why not.
Anonymous No.76817593 [Report] >>76817757
is there a risk gym pins can overload the cable tension the machine was designed for
Anonymous No.76817757 [Report]
>>76817593
Yes but it's a very minor risk and an indication the machine was going to fail soon anyway

The cables are designed to take many multiples of the weight on the machine

because he isn't wrong.

i've been doing backshots on you for years now, ain't no way you're lifting 300.
Anonymous No.76818267 [Report]
>>76818102
that wasn't me but yes I did 300 for 10+ reps first try ez and yes machine weight works the exact same resistance is resistance you'll have to provide proof of your claim otherwise what you're stating is the machines are wrong in which case there'd be legal ramifications but we know you're a lying little dweeb making shit up to try and sound cool

again bot - what is the brace on legs for ? say it with me:

>it is to abuse psoas some MOAR
>>76818482
>>>76818419
>>>the brace on legs is for psoas and rectus femoris bot :D abs have ZERO to do with legs except when u train abs legs must be soft

>the brace on legs is for psoas and rectus femoris bot :D abs have ZERO to do with legs except when u train abs legs must be soft
>>76797962

yes psoas holds the spine from the front preventing it from buckling while back musculature performs the motion

it's a very useful way of thinking bout spine - it's like a mast on age of sail ship only that u keep it's rigidity with muscles
that's also why u need abs for proper thoracic extension - abs are very important postural muscle not just vanity thing

A pulley system gives no advantage when it only changes the direction of the force but does not reduce the amount of force you need to lift something. A pulley system gives a mechanical advantage when more than one rope segment supports the load, meaning your effort is spread out, so you need less force to lift the same weight.
>tl;dr: 1 line from the weight stack = no mechanical advantage.
>inb4 but the line splits on some machines
Yeah, that's to split the weight between hands. It's still the same weight

Machines were invented by people who dedicated their entire existence to fitness, who were among the greatest lifters in the history of the human race, specifically to address the shortcomings of the rudimentary tools they used. Every world renowned lifter or athlete uses machines. Machines are superior for most exercises.
