I tried GPT5 and it's smarter than most people that I know. But that is not a very high bar to be smarter than the average person. GPT5 seems to be at like an "autistic savant" level, and it's smarter than the average person generally in many ways, but it fails catastrophically at common sense sometimes.

Are these models, in the near future, going to be super human? It's already super human in a small number of ways like translation ability. I doubt there's a human alive that can translate as many languages accurately as GPT5 can. And super human in its ability to recite information.

But I'm talking about super human in most things, especially reasoning. Is that coming in the near future?
