Dongles fucking suck and you cannot tell me they don't because I've used them.

My phone has Dolby sound enhancement and a 3.5mm, I won't be buying another phone again though, my next device will be purely used for listening and playing videos with some light browsing, I don't even use a sim card so a phone is just useless to me, also most of them don't have headphone outputs, totally pointless devices

On my PC I have Sennheiser 6XX with FiiO amp/dac and a 300GB FLAC library.
On my phone I just use Pixel Buds Pro and I've transcoded my library to 30GB of OPUS to save phone space.
And I honestly don't feel like the mobile setup sounds bad in any way. It sounds good and clear and enjoyable. The only downside is that it makes the inside of my ears sweaty after a while, but that's a problem of in-ear vs over-ear headphones. But in exchange, they got active noise cancelling, which is great when you're outside.
Basically I don't know where this "shitty bluetooth" meme comes from. Is this some old tech meme? Maybe the first bluetooth earphones were shitty, I wouldn't know that because the pixel buds pro are my first and only bluetooth headphones I've ever used. Those sound surprisingly good though.

Step 1: Remove headphone jack that uses mostly right angle connectors placed on the corner of the phone that goes at the bottom of your pocket so it doesn't bend anything
Step 2: Make the phones absolutely gigantic so they take up your whole pocket (very important step)
Step 3: Sell people shitty USB DACs with straight(!) USB connectors that go right in the middle of the phone at the top of your pocket sticking out so it's impossible to not bend it

Until you play a game and realize that it would have been much more useful if you'd heard footsteps approaching shortly before you got killed, than right after. Apart from games, Bluetooth is mostly okay so long as you use only video players that measure and compensate for latency by delaying the video.

I've seen few if any people who can hear a difference between LDAC 909/990 kbps and wired. AptX-HD and AptX-Adaptive with good conditions are pretty good too. AptX, AAC and especially SBC are another story though. And no, playing AAC files while using AAC Bluetooth does NOT stream your file to the earphones directly without transcoding.

What I actually do is use a FiiO BTR11 with my Sennheiser HD 25s. When the battery dies I replace the $20 adapter instead of the headphones. The sound quality is fine with LDAC.

I use it like, once a year. My IEMs are either TWS or connected to a BTR15 WITH A 4.4mm jack. My 3.5mm jack won't run 300ohm hd 660s2s anyway

If I'm paying 500+ I better have one. Strangely it's only the cheaper "budget" phones that have them.

main problem is it has the classic problems of USB devices - sometimes the thing just won't work until you reboot the OS. it also gets unplugged too easily, introduces an additional point of failure via the extra connection, not to mention being an extra thing you need to remember to carry with your earphones.

also, this might be a thing on latest Android with 3.5mm devices too, but i get no indication of whether my USB-C headphones are plugged in or not; i have to either dig through the settings menu to find out, or try playing audio and see where it comes out from. what's so hard about just giving me the headphones icon in the notification area?

i didn't think it be like this, but it do. will almost certainly not buy another phone without 3.5mm.
