Try the entire western world buddy. Capitalism or the capitalism you know: neoliberal capitalism is sold on the idea that the invisible hand or the market is a force of good. It will act in self interest. We don't need to regulate it, it'll all be fine, they're working for profit and we should keep taxes low so everything thrives.
Yeah, it's been running unchecked for at least the last 17 years and it had a damn good run before that running unchecked too, about 45-50 years depending on the nation.
God bless that ruling because it made state intervention necessary to counteract the negative effects of an unchecked market. Then that idea was sold to avoid intervention in the markets even when they crashed and burned.
The markets will do good buddy, just have to trust a little bit harder.
Is it any surprise the tech world is the way it is when you consider the size of the organisations that control it?
