So I was building a computer for my mom.
And the first thing that came to mind was that /g/ mantra, "Install Linux on a computer for your parents!" And that's exactly what I did.
But when I told my mom, "I built a PC for you and installed Linux on it!"
She gave me that look of disgust I've never seen her give.
I immediately wiped Linux off that PC and installed Windows 11 Pro.
This made me realize Linux has a serious image problem, and I don't think you guys are helping.

This. She doesn't know what Linux is, she just didn't want her sperg son doing anything weird (this happens every day, she had a reason to show disgust - and luckily OP has be practicing his emotion recognition skills).

Linux Mint with Windows theme would be too subversive for my tastes, but to a normie it's indistinguishable. He should have just installed Mint Cinnamon and said "here you go", and it would have just werked.

I remember HS in 2005. The dumb it nerds put Debian on all the hs library computers. I think every student hated it kek. Just install Windows for normies
