Doesn't make sense to me, but the whole idea is the sin of "cultural appropriation" where white people are uniquely evil for adopting ideas that work from other cultures, as if everyone else doesn't do that. There's still value to "cultural exchange" except that's changed from an endorsement of taking ideas that work and using them, to importing the people and giving them money for "their" collective intellectual property.

What about the thousands of programs using the Apache 2.0 license? They are not required to change the license, but it can be sublicensed and renamed the ASF license by anyone.
I also assume that the Apache name will have to be kept if the copyright notice explicitly states that it is licensed under the Apache 2.0 license.

Hiawatha is in maintenance mode. Cherokee hasn't had a release in years, but there is some activity on their github. They're both made by Europeans (Leisink is Dutch or Belgian, I think, and the Cherokee guy is Spanish) so they probably don't care as much about appeasing the wokies.
