Why is foss so user hostile? How hard would it be to save a cloud backup of your settings for you?

>How hard would it be to save a cloud backup of your settings for you?
And who is gonna host that?
Do it yourself if you care that much.

the same people who host the download it's a bit of text. why throw a fit?

Hosting a few megabytes for a download isn't the same as being responsible for the data of millions of users anon.

data could literally be stored in a few hundred bytes if you are clever about it for a million users that what 100MB? Rate limit downloads to twice a day per client and ip and you are done

Most FOSS devs dont even host their own files to begin with, they just distribute through github.
Introducing any kind of backup sync would need an account system to identify users, constant connections to send it the data back and forth (which costs money), and wouldn't really do anything for the devs except give them bragging rights.
There's literally no reason for them to offer any kind of file hosting that could easily be abused and distract from the point of developing their software, when users could just be responsible and back up their own files.

Now you are just making up horseshit and excuses. Stop lying, I can only assume you are being user hostile on purpose at this point not that you are just this dumb to believe that the "only way" to do backups would require a ""constant"" server connection.

3 different character systems - 3 different fonts. Makes sense to me.

Some chuubas never clean up their OBS scenes and get fucked if they're not at their streaming PC. It's kind of on them at that point.

That doesn't explain why one is dark, another is serif and the third is sans.

There is no dark or serif font there, take your meds. the kana and kanji are both gothic and from the same font.
Do you mean the thumbnail for dark? lol

The latin characters look dark, and the kanji characters are clearly sans and even more clearly different from the kana characters, which themselves look like they come from two different fonts.

Complicated question, the short of it is that FOSS is made by programmers, for their own use cases or due to their own passion. It's not made with the end user in mind or whatever, this isn't a company making software it MUST sell or it goes under, it's just some dudes working on it because they want to and they implement whatever they think is useful or interesting.
