No, because despite it being 2024+1, there is no alternative that "just werks" and you're coping if you claim otherwise. This is enough for the average normie who already broadcasts every detail of their life on social media.

You have it backwards. There are plenty of boomers who never updooted from previous versions of windows. The "alternative" is to upgrade. But why even upgrade? It's scaremongering.

wrong, and microsoft will fail because they foster massive inefficiencies. enterprises may seem to put up with that but there are 10year off migrations plans being build all around the world. the web makes it possible to be windows agnostic. linux while still a pile of shit is getting better and mac is just too expensive but that is that.

It can be downloaded by a browser from simply loading an ad, or a malicious resource not even the site owner knows it's there. The idea that every malware or virus infection comes from a user input is very 1990's.
Nobody needs to consult you in terms of information security, you are unequipped, probably deliberately.

If your hope is for people to install a severely outdated, unpatched and likely vulnerable OS to easily add them to your state-sponsored botnet, you're underestimating your audience. Or at least I fucking hope so.

4chan has been hacked for a decade by everyone not stupid enough to announce it while the Jap and the Niggajeet had no idea what was going on.
If you could easily get malware from just visiting a site on a modern browser a significant part of the 4chan userbase would have been infected now yet seemingly that's not really happened.

No. The turbofags who care about ads, loss of performance and forcing people to throw out perfectly good hardware are something like 0.001% of Microsoft's income. The overwhelming majority of their moneymakers are corporate clients with a lot of employees who pay them for tons of IT related stuff. The rest are normalfags that will eat every piece of shit they are served. The niggercattle, if you will.

It's the same kind of people who went through the facebookization of the internet and never thought it was weird. They will literally take a picture with a dildo in their mouth if they saw 2 other retards do it.

i was under the impression that it was the exact opposite in the 90s and 00s. like yes people were retarded and clicked the iloveyou.exe they got in an email but iirc the internet was much more of a wild west because everything had a shit ton of vulnerabilities due to lack of oversight. there was even like predictions that the internet would eventually be come unusable due to too much spyware, spam and viruses everywhere.

but anyways it turns out that if you bolt on enough bloatware onto an OS or a browser, it eventually becomes secure even if bombed 24/7 by various third world troll farms and cyberwarfare sectors. that is, until we get a proper hot war and it turns out there are a shitload of backdoors in everything

I don't need retards creating attack vectors here on the board. It's very important that anyone browsing the board identifies attempts to make people run old OSes as malicious and probably Chinese and Russian-sponsored.

Windows 11 is complete shit. Running windows XP or 7 in 2025 is not a solution to anything.

>It's very important that anyone browsing the board identifies attempts to make people run old OSes as malicious and probably Chinese and Russian-sponsored.
oh yeah i agree 100%. that was kinda my point though: the insane bloat of a modern day browser and OS comes partially from having to make everything thirdie-proof.

also i somehow don't really believe microsoft is *really* going to withhold updates to the windows 10 unless you buy into some extra update subscription (tm) because at that point they are going out of their way to monetize and be complicit in cybercrime. are they really going to say "yeah we actually want most of our windows 10 users to become a part of a botnet run by a terrorist state"
