Redpill me about Window Managers
>Linux is free if you don't value your time.
This statement here is truth. I spend months during my 3rd uni semester building Arch Linux from scratch with 'tism and it ruined my college life. However, it did teach me a lot of things about 'puters and one of it is that WMs suck.
What I need is just a command to install a whole Desktop Environment that will automatically pull all the WMs, panels, file managers and desktop icons (yes I need those), start menu, screen lockers, volume control, autostart programs, and so on. You literally cannot do this in one go with WMs, and I'm too bothered to go through 1000 lines of config files just to make it look good (I'm no ricer), or to set up autostarts on programs that I already expect to launch at the start.
That said, THE ONLY decent, usable, fairly "complete" WMwith some of my needs on install is IceWM, because it came with a panel and wallpaper, but it's still barebone and I have to add other packages to get through at minimal. How do you even survive this?

you willingly chose the thing that wastes as much time as possible barring gentoo and choose to complain about it instead of just using a just werks distro. that's on you, dawg
wms don't matter. all you need is a terminal window and tmux

Your time is literally worthless if you're unemployed. I spent an hour on a 3 dollar bus ride instead of a 17 dollar Uber today and basically paid myself 14 dollars an hour by doing so
Your time is a lot less valuable than you think as well once you actually realize how many hours every day you waste doing suboptimal or completely irrelevant bullshit anyways

No, doing something you're not inclined to do just to look cool is a waste of time you gigantic faggot. You obviously don't even like OS customization. Just go back to windoze or mac and GTFO, nobody cares about what OS you use. A lot of normalfags trying to use Linux to look like a l33t hax0r in college or something else, I don't really know. Maybe too much Linux users preaching to retards who shouldn't even know about this. That's why you don't fucking advertise good things for the public, you make yourself your own happy place and be happy with it.

They're just rectangle managers that everybody seethes about autistically and somehow not a single person or group has perfected them over the course of 40+ years and counting. Yes, people failed at fucking making movable rectangles.

Mac window management is so abhorrent it's a genuine time sink, finding the window you are looking for is a pain when not using a trackpad.
Plus basic stuff missing like no window snap and no clipboard management.

you're conflating terms. if you want a hollistic suite you just go with a desktop environment, which includes but isn't just a window manager ... if you want just a window manager, then you're only gonna get a window manager. you're an idiot if you choose that path and think it should be all you need.
anyway, i just use lxqt + bspwm. i haven't changed my configs for them in a significant way in years. just a few lines if i have any new long-term app additions. there's zero waste in that regard unless you're some retard that keeps distrohopping and tinkertrannying for no productive reason.
