Not OP, but there's nothing that I need/want to do that POSReady 2009 won't facilitate. Simple as. Some programs are new, some are old , but everything's up to date and works perfectly fine. The fact that you can tweak the os to open literally zero ports and run a quality third party firewall on top of it attests to i's superiority.

Run tons of quality software on literal scrap hardware no one would bother picking up from the trash today, and that at lighting speed. All in all you're looking at roughly 35 years of native software compatibility, possibly even more with the hackish kernel updoots and other life extension measures.

Just poked around the old search engine it looks like XP cards are limited to DP v1.2 or HDMI v2.0, which caps out at 144hz at 1080p. This is still pretty good though, and might give XP an install for a bit. Win7 is serving me very well though. It's just really cool to see XP still going strong

But normally 7/10/11 have security features turned on automatically.

I know this with 7 because I used to turn off the firewall completely for non specific reasons and ... yeah don't do that.
