I can get behind yyyy-mm-dd. I use that in file names mostly. Anything else I either use the full month, or I unironically use dots. Using slashes instead of hyphens or dots should be illegal. On paper they look like my ones and on PC I can't use them in file names.

I agree, it might seems like a minor qualm but the way profiles work(ed) in Firefox was very clunky even for a computer savy user. Imagine thinking having to fuck with about:profiles or firefox -P is good enough for your users willing to use different profiles. This is such a basic feature, I don't know why they didn't bother working on a friendlier interface before.

Good news if it's not fake anyway, I'll be willing to switch back to Firefox to give it a try.

This shit is broken I'm stuck on a subprofile now

I use a separate "work" profile and account since ages. Their "new" profile feature has nothing to do with the "user profiles" that exist since forever. Obviously they now want me to store and sync everything with the same ff account. All we wanted was a fucking button or whatever to easily switch between profiles. I think there was an add-on for this at some point. The ff trannies just keep building shit nobody asked for or they just copy features from add-ons we are using for years.

you can switch between their "new" profiles but not between the traditional user profiles. You either go through "about:profiles" or select the user profile via CLI parameters.

Wait, I think I'm starting to piece it together with what's been said itt, is it like subprofiles on a main profile rather than distinct profiles? That doesn't sound too bad if it's contained properly. And in theory it could work with the old about:profiles profiles, with each one having distinct subprofiles. A bit convoluted, but not that bad. My problem is that since I enabled it a while back (before it was properly implemented), Firefox keeps losing my profile and I have to reenable it in profiles.ini in app data.
