>New generations are sovless because they have never experienced real fun
I was referring to the present user base of 4chan and /g/, but I suppose Zoomers, tourists, and normalfags in general coming in and disregarding board culture, or even being openly hostile to it, is one of the causes.
>I legitimately enjoy more just browsing random wikipedia tech pages than 4chan now
There's still the occasional thread or general from which I learn something new/interesting, or can engage in some sort of meaningful argument, but most threads are often inane or for the sake of engagement.
I think 4chan is a pretty good place to find introductory information on something that isn't gimped due to concerns about piracy or other similar "ethical concerns". The board's wiki is interesting to read, even though it's not all that in-depth. The archives too.
There's a pretty big contrast between interactions from even just 5 years ago, and now. I know most oldfags will say that 4chan went to shit back in 20xx, but the quality of its interactions REALLY took a nosedive in recent years.
