Very often, I'll get a picture where something doesn't come out quite right, and I want to tweak the prompt/settings and retry with the same seed. With "control before generate," the seed in the field is still the same seed, and I can just change the mode to "Fixed" and proceed with my retries. OTOH, if it's set to "control after generate", the seed in the field is no longer the one that produced the latest image, so I have to open the image's metadata and manually copy-paste the old seed back into the field before I can do my retries.

I can make it do things but that's me(and it takes a bit of coaxing).
it's just kind of weird style that really to fry out for some reason(probably due to lots of hatching/sketchiness and slightly confrontational color schemes).
current run is on vpred because for whatever reason it (usually) handles this sort of thing slightly better and I'm a dumbass who thought it would be a good idea to deal with its schizo shit.

which it was. and I did use it in multi-artist stuff a lot since I genuinely like the actual style and wanted to try and get a better iteration of it. That and it was pdxl - while I could get something that looked not awful, it was still pdxl with a lot of pdxl issues.
I did try and dick with it on noob iterations in the past it just never really stuck and I moved on. Only really bothering with it now as a distraction and because I've been working on a lot of dumb ideas to mitigate datasets that have a tendency to fry out.
