I got my first job as a junior through networking.
Now I want to move on for better pay and also to stand on my own two feet using my experience and credentials and not daddy's connections.

I've applied to over 30 companies and haven't gotten a single reply.

Some of them I fit the stack perfectly.
I have mastered exactly the things they are requesting (languages, frameworks, technologies) and have the experience to prove it.
As well as good stories and such which they sometimes ask.

There's no way that out of the 40 idiots who applied I am not the best fit, or at least worth a fucking interview.

How do I negotiate salary? I am a contract worker and was told by my manager that they wanna bring me in as full time, but I still gotta go through the application process. I make ~85k right now (probably more since I do overtime pretty often) as a backend engineer, but the salary range posted is 75k - 85k. The only thing that will probably change is that I'll be on-call sometimes. In the application I asked for 90k. I'm supposed to get a call from HR, but nothing yet.
Was this retarded? I'm the most junior on the team with only a little over year of experience. I just don't think it makes sense to have to do on-call, which I heard sucks ass, with no change to my pay even if I get benefits. I'll also lose overtime pay. Working as a SWE at a defense company, the commute to and from the office is ~4 hrs via bus + train + car everyday, doing it because i live at home for free, making $120k, work in a sealed windowless room with one computer that has internet and redditors playing bad bunny on speakers through it.

I am able to complete all tasks that are given to me. I leave around 4 so that I can get home by 6, usually am there ~7hrs but put more on timecard to get 40hrs.

Recently my manager had a 1-on-1 "FYI" convo talking about hours and how they have to be time in the building, felt like a passive aggessive threat for firing me.

Guy on my team just got fired a week after for, i suspect, a similar reason.

yeah this is all a joke at this point, the damage that has been done is basically irreparable at this point. the only thing you can do is just not get caught up in ensuing conflicts while we slowly turn into SA or brazil.
