You fuckers are so fucking retarded. I know Reddit is fucking retarded, but I would have thought you guys would be smarter.
A million small writes is not going to kill your fucking SSD. Those log files are less than 10kb. AMD is not the only one doing this by the way. A mid range SSD usually has 200TBW before it's considered 'bad'. That means SMART is going to give a WARNING that your SSD endurance are getting low, that's not the total amount, it can reach 500TBW if you push it.
10kb is 0.00000010TB. You have 200 TBW. It means it needs to write 2 BILLION times before you get a warning.

So no, your log files aren't killing your SSDs. It would take 10+ years before you see any wear on an SSD just for the log files.

Once you try oled, it's over
you are forever cursed to be a slave to it
you might try and cope and go back to lcd and inferior displays, but in the back of your mind you will always know it's pure shit
lcds are too slow, tvs too large
I kneel, I admit defeat
I will go back to a 27"-32" 240hz-540hz QD/Tandem 4k/1440p OLED, there is simply nothing else
I was already at endgame, I might aswell just admit defeat and join the Republic right now
only now there is the question if 500+hz is actually more preferrable to 4k, or if 1440p really looks that bad and the hz does not outweigh it
I undervalued hz and 0 smearing, it's important
it might be over
I should have bought the g81sf 27" or two of them when it was on sale for 499€, will literally never see such a deal again, could have even peeled the matte coating

OLED freed me from CCFL slavery, I can finally buy new monitors after using same old shit for over a decade because literally every LED LCD was worse for my use case.
>tvs too large
It's the opposite, 42" TV freed so much space after using dual 24" I don't even need desk as big as before.

I was considering taking the C4 42" pill, but had to test if 55" is viable first
I know now that it's just too big for no reason, not sure if 42" will be better since it's woled+144hz max anyway
might aswell go back to a 27-32" at this point

I even think dual monitors would be more preferable, I think single screen window management is literally gay, so a larger screen would not really add anything either

I'm completely new to PC building, and I got all of the parts from a random pcpartpicker list I snagged from an anon's post almost a year ago while lurking /v/ (I wanted to try to build a powerful gaming PC that costs less than the shitty $2,000 MSI MPG Trident 3 10th prebuilt PC I bought in 2020, and the anon's list was perfect):
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QgJGb2

I managed to assemble the PC a few months back and I tried Windows 11 on it (I despised it so much), so I put Linux Mint 22.1 on it instead. However, since this was my first time building a PC, I didn't know what I was supposed to do about the BIOS updates and settings, and there was way too much conflicting info everywhere on the internet. Most people were saying to updoot to the latest BIOS version, so I downloaded the latest stable BIOS file for my MB from the official MSI website, but that's where all of my problems began. After updooting, I noticed that if I disable secure boot and/or delete the secure boot keys, the text would start changing to chinese letters and the BIOS eventually freezes and locks up, and I would have to force a shutdown. I ended up making this meme because of it (I used shotcut):
https://files.catbox.moe/tgczp0.mp4

I've read so many bad things about the B650 Gaming Plus WiFi MB, and I'm considering switching to a different AM5 MB (looking for something that has good stability, good Linux compatibility, compatible with current parts, and no built-in WiFi because I'm sensitive to EMF). I'm also probably going to switch to another distro because the latest versions of Linux Mint is shit (21.3 was the last good version), and I'll give Arch Linux another shot before trying Cachy OS, but if Arch Linux still hasn't fixed the PAM bug (instant password lockout when using sudo or syu commands even when the password is typed correctly), then I'll have to go on a hunt for another distro. Picrel is the PC I built (first time I've ever built a PC).

obviously none of the super cheap ones with 3050s and shit
none with a 5060 since the 2 i checked were 8gb versions, i wont even bother checking them anymore
So its either 5070 and 5070TI models, i dont think i saw any with 9070/9070xt which would have been worth a check

Picrel would be my pic, one with a 5070 the other with the TI, i skipped the ones with 64 ram cause its a waste in your case.

NOW for 1080@60hz you can do with less but getting a 5070/ti now gives you some room, you can get a 1440p screen later on your life and move to 1440p@120hz which those cpus will do for you.

I assume the rest of the pieces are the exact same and just switching the gpu
check the price difference of a 5070 with the TI version in case either of them is overpriced/underpriced
The CPU they chose in literally all of them are not... "gaming" focused cpus not the ones you would usually see recommended in these threads, and i have to assume the rest of the builds are also made with profit in mind, in case you can at least think about maybe building your own, but i have no idea how available specific pieces would be in brazil.

Also keep in mind picrel
They dont list a cooler so i assume they use the stock cooler which might not be enough, also might want some extra fans, maybe you can talk to the shop when you order it, so they can add other pieces or whatever (again like a real cooler)

Not a lot of reasons to get a 9950X3D right now.
I'm pretty sure they've announced, or it's been leaked or whatever that a version of the CPU with a full cache over all 16 cores is coming "soon", rather than the current set up where 8 of the cores have the X3D's cache and the other 8 are just ordinary cache.
So, if you want the 9950X3D, wait for that.

If you don't really care about the extra cores and "Workstation" stuff, just get the 9800X3D.
Every benchmark I've seen indicates that the 9950X3D is equal or worse to the 9800X3D in gaming and other "Consumer" tasks, and the price mark up just doesn't really justify it. Full cache over 16 cores might, but it's still all pretty overkill for most stuff.

Nvidia cards are expensive and don't have as much demand behind them as they used to. Also the relative uplift is quite small.
AMD cards are good, but still relatively small market share and don't quite reach the top-end.

A lot of people are waiting and seeing, other people aren't seeing any reason to upgrade over 40XX or 30XX cards. Demand is likely a little lower than expected. I think Nvidia is going to have a lot of competition soon, and maybe they're trying to brace for that.

I also wouldn't worry about the CPU for the Steam Machine. a 7600x pairs pretty well with a 7900 XTX, so I'd imagine whatever CPU the Steam Machine has should work great with the GPU.

>With the same settings and resolution, we then turned on RT sun shadows and RT reflections and saw CP77's frame-rates dip into a jittery 30fps range. I have a separate 500GB NVMe drive for OS + non-gaming apps, it's nearly four years old, and at 40 TBW.

Here is a slightly adjusted build list. I don't think there's a point to paying the DDR5 tax if you're using a 12th-gen CPU.
12400F is basically a slightly downclocked 12600K/F with 0 e-cores. You can add the 12600KF if you want to.

Some of the components in the list are offered @ time/supply limited discounts.
There are fewer than 20 of the Kotetsu M3 CPU coolers left on Amazon.

Are 12VHPWR exteneson/adapter cables still a fire hazard?
Asking because I can't close the case without bending the standard one that came with my PSU, and am considering buying something like pic related.
Also what's the best way to support a big GPU? The manufacturer-provided support brace is a bit inadequate.

There's not much to figure out.
The CPU is a mobile Ryzen 7600 bin (30W limit) that has a lower maximum boost clock than the 7500F.
The GPU is a custom-tuned Radeon 7600M that's available in mini PCs & eGPUs, it's not the XT (28 vs 32 CU).
DDR5 memory is most likely to be a basic 2x 8GB 4800MT/s CL40 JEDEC kit.

Actually for $30 I'd do it. You're looking at roughly an ~18% performance uplift which isn't much but it would get your 1% Minimum FPS above 60fps @ 1440p with the extra 3GB of VRAM over the 8GB of the 2070S.

Is it true that 5000 Super cards won't release until Q3 2026? If so, I better upgrade my ancient GTX 1080 now with black friday. If I play at 1440p, is the 5070 ok or should I get 5070 Ti? The latter is 150€ more than the 5070 so I'm not sure... I've also been thinking about getting a used 4070 Ti Super for the same price as the 5070

DRAM prices being insane + tariffs being insane has to cancel a lot of products right?

Like steam machine has to pay 50-100% more for the ram
Phones have to pay it
all handhelds, consoles, laptops etc have to pay

The budget oriented devices get a 20-30% price bump.

If you can confirm the condition of the used 4070 Ti Super (and have a good return policy), I'd get that over the new 5070.

any point at which you are introducing another possible arc can arc. now with those I read that it was caused by the supplied wire being too thin and nvidia onboard wattage limits being broke. for instance the 9070XT can't burn from it because it will never spike above 600W.

All of them are good choices it all depends on how much you care about having a brand new card with 5 years of warranty and which one is closer or below msrp if you are an anon that likes to upgrade after 5 or more years then 5070 TI will last you that much and the 5070 may not be a great 1440p in 5 years because of vram

>Can you tell me anything about OLED burn?
1. They all have 3-year burn-in warranties meaning by the end if the period you can get a new one in the very small chance there's any.
2. As long you let the panel do it's automatic refresh cycles and don't use it for a lot of static content daily like Excel Spreadsheets and stick to chiefly reading comics. watching video, or playing games it should last at least ~6/8 years realistically.
HUBTim deliberately used his review OLED in ways normal users wouldn't in a super-torture test and at the latest update can't even see any burn-in in real content only on gray slides to highlight the difference and that was from leaving two windows open side-by-side for effectively months on end:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whuHuM9h88M
3. After however many years it takes for there to become VISIBLE burn-in you'll be able to pickup a replacement as cheap or cheaper than any LCD right now that's better than what's current available.
4. If you use run it in conjunction with an LCD for a daily use you can easily expect more than 10 years of effective lifetime.

Says the retard whose Chinkshit PSU isn't even in Cablemod's compatibility list.
Cablemod's options are recommended by SeaSonic if their first-party cables aren't sold by authorized retailers.
Cablemod recalled the problematic adapters; their cables were always safe if you followed the guidelines.

Go ahead and find a better third-party cable manufacturer.
