How to create an ui for a game? I was in the vrpg board and they directed me to this. Another good hint I got there was to follow web principles, what works there, should work for games, too. I can do that of course, but I wanted to do theoretical work first, like how do I represent the emotional tone, the theme of the game aso. I'm solo and would like to do everything by myself. The game itself is rather short, so it should be doable.

Stepping in here. EVA's board is meant to be a pre blue LED display. Before blue light, LED's used in displays could only be a shade of green or red. This existed for a lot of electronic devices from the 70's to the 90's. There is some wiggle room like neon green and orange but those are usually how phosphorus displays showed color.

If you want to try to recreate this style, you should focus on the hardware side of things. Glow and gradients are very important.

The other half of the design equation is the placement and typography. In EVA the design is similar to those found in magic or alchemical diagrams. Outside of that the text for the 4 corner's is a simple bubble text.
