also while they look alone both planes were in loose formations with other planes and the p-63 was ordered by the air director to be in a trailing formation so he was probably busy staying where he should relative to his leader (behind and below)
>then who is at fault ?the air director failed to have altitude separation between aircraft formations and told them to show up in front of the spectators at the same time on the same 1000 feet line (from the spectators)
air director also had lackluster prebriefing and basically was orchestrating the whole thing with real time commands instead of a preplanned rules to be sure planes wouldn't cross paths
