I know, I sorta like the manga actually but I'd prefer him back too. The dude's an old-school kind of mangaka. Despite the hentai background, his harem stories other than Giri Giri Sisters and Sweet Hearts are still very "will they won't they" vibe, very 2000s. So he teased a more significant progression maybe in the next chapter or so but he never went there. Love Selection's 1st chapter is very much that. Shame really, it could've been the next Giri Giri Sisters imo.

DxD if you haven't heard has been on hiatus since 2020 with the release of "Decisive Battle and Study Abroad in the Kingdom", True High School DxD 4 volume. True DxD is the sequel series of normal DxD, which would the fourth volume True, volume 29. The reason it's been on hiatus was that author got sick in 2021. With creator giving permission to another writer in 2024 to write a spin-off novel series to give the fans some content, and this is a point I'll return to later, so remeber this.

[High School DxD EX] is spin-off/future book that tells us that Issei did score and had kids with his harem girls, but it's time travel nonsense. Hints of the events of EX have been explored in the normal ln series, but this book was released in 2015. So if the author changes his mind, this shit will be non-canon.

And remember the spin-off series in 2024 I mentioned, it's yuri shit, with Issei not appearing in any of the two books. Leading to some yuri ntr shit with the main girls from dxd.
