Regular. Sunshine has only slightly better graphics but far less mods. If you want more creation options the most recent regular Koikatsu repack is the one you want.

Ah, you are using Sunshine then instead of Base Koikatsu. I don't think you can switch it there then, I don't know much about Sunshine because I don't use it, but it has a reduced slot selection in the chara maker (only 4 outfit slots instead of 7 in base for example). I think because of Sunshine's beach setting they deemed switching the footwear useless. In Studio it's still a thing though which I guess sucks.

I think the best way to describe is similar to how you can either keep using the rtx 40 graphics cards, or jump to the 50 graphic cards.
For example, in my PC Sunshine runs better than original KK. And there are some plugins exclusive to KKS, (either because the unity version allows the mod makers to make those plugins work, or the makers don't want to backport them.) most regular mods Can work on either side, but there is always going to be a bunch that for whatever reason don't work in the other.

Yeah, I got rid of basically everything from 2020/2021 too, I'm surprised anything old remained but a subfolder escaped apparently. I still have my old character profile renders for the themes floating around. That sci-fi theme from around then was a really good time and was what got me interested in sticking with Koikatsu thanks to all the neat stuff people were making for it.

Reposting this from last bread because I like it.

After updating my mods, most of my cards started showing pic related errors. Even downloading the newest repack and using its mods doesnt do a thing, tied updating with manager as well.
After this error started occuring, every single cards nipples reverted to 0 values at the end of the day. Are my cards fucked?

Has anyone gotten the breast physics plug in to work in the story mode? I've downloaded it from github and added it successfully to both KK and KKS, but it seems to be in conflict with other plug ins (can't select clothes in additional outfits, Breast2 size mods reset after a certain amount of loads in game).

They're actually just some basic gloves. I added the Necromancer gloves in accessories and removed every part except the gold.

Are there any places to get more particles for koikatsu? As much as I'm fine with the default ones it feels like it would be nice to have more variety (also my installation is decently outdated so if more have been added I'd like to know where to look in the repack sideloader)

There's a bunch
1. Edit the face and flatten out the nose so it doesn't stick out as far so there's no clipping
2. Just move the veil itself (assuming this is an accessory, if it's clothing and thus can't be moved then ignore this suggestion)
3. Open up the card, equip the outfit there, make the adjustments to the accessories, and save it as a separate card so you don't have to use the outfit in Studio.
4. In studio, make a copy of the character, make that copy entirely invisible aside from the veil. Hide the veil on the original character, and position your floating veil copy where it needs to go
5. Using advanced bones in studio, locate the veil and move it manually a few degrees on the Z axis
6. Say fuck it, and shop it manually in the finished render

Not in real-time, as far as I know. Best way that I know is to export your meshes using Blendshape Creator, then making your deformations in Blender, then reimporting the blendshapes back into KK.

There are no good example in bepis. They are wearing large towels like in modern anime.

Fun idea to try: using dice to randomize aspects of character creation. Roll for variations in physical traits, or for variations in personality traits and then base the appearance on that. Even just rolling a d6 for how much their height deviates from the default and flipping a coin to decide whether it's shorter or taller can make your girls feel a lot less generic, especially in group shots.

What's really annoying is those feels like base mods, lighting and furniture should be base mods. But every time there's an update ordinary life things you see in a normal hentai anime gets removed, and sci-fi/fantasy stuff gets included. Sounds like a shader issue. Character's shaders must be swapped through Material Editor. Xukmi's vanilla+ shaders are a solid choice. I think KKUTS works as well, though I haven't really played with that one. Shader Swapper plugin can painlessly swap default shaders to a corresponding vanilla+ shader by pressing a hotkey.

That worked. But not what I'm expecting. If I light up one part of the body, the whole body lights up. I guess the body is either lit up or not. I guess I'll just work with this if there's no better way.

Notice that the hair is dark. Portions of the body/clothes/accessories have their own on/off switch, and needs to be hit by the light to lit up.

Here are the results. The scene has six "Flat Planes" for the walls, ceiling, and floor. I still need a different "lighter" texture for the ceiling, but pngs on the internet trimmed to 512x512 looks off when I use them. Textures probably have a hidden variable I'm not aware of.

I wish I can go darker, but doing so will make the character look like it doesn't receive the light no more (it does, just very faint). There should be a setting for charas to make it look like its receiving a lot of light even if the light source is very weak. Just like the "Light Influence" slider of the "Flat Planes" item.

Also, the character is not receiving any shadows from any items (like the bed, in this case). It clearly projects its own shadow on items, but it doesn't work the other way around (I'll post another example).

This is the "School Infirmary" map, fifth to the last map in RX22. It's one of the really dark school map, I think used for spooky scenes, but with the right lighting, it can work as a fucking in the dark map.

I wish I know how to enable a dark scene like these maps. The default is obviously not dark enough for my taste.

Anyway, see Chika is projecting her shadow on the map, but the map can't project its shadow on Chika (the chair in this case), which makes Chika a witch - fitting.

Swap to KKUTS. It's quite a bit more challenging to work with, but shadows work more in the way you expect. You'll have to use Mass Shader Editor for that. It's nowhere near as intuitive or simple as Shader Swapper, but it beats swapping all your shaders one at a time.

Go to the Shader tab.
In Filter, select the shader you're swapping from in the dropdown menu.
In Shader, choose the shader you will be swapping to in the dropdown menu. KKUTS in your case.
Open the settings tab by selecting the icon between Rend and ?.
Click Affect Chracters so it's set to Yes.
Choose which parts will be affected. Any of those that are selected will have their shaders swapped if they have the the shader you specified in Filter.

Forgot about it until now, but you can also use Shader Management Tool instead. Bit easier to use.

Open the Tool and select Replace Chara Shader.
Choose the shader you will be swapping to, and click Set.
On the next window, select the shader you will be swapping from. By default, you only see the Shader Forge shaders, so click More and look for your desired shader if it's not Shader Forge. Execute to swap.

The different "flavors" of KKUTS you see are specifically for their described target. KKUTSeyew is meant for the sclera. KKUTSalpha is meant for stuff you want to make transluscent. Etc.
KKUTS is an NPR shader, meant to look more "toon". KKUSS (and its alternative, Az) is a PBR shader and meant to be more "realistic".

That's easy. They're already lined up. Also, I use the "Whole Chara", which I believe includes the "item" (clothes) and the "chara"

But now, Chika is too dark in the dark. I did a quick fix.

The quick fix is to add a D-MODMAP alongside the P-MODMAP. but I feel that's not the correct way. And I should edit the the shaders in the mat editor to brighten it up a bit in the dark. Any guides about that?
