The man is old and stubborn, he's been an artist for quite some time now. If I'm not mistaken, he's almost 70. He has health complications as some Japanese artists his age range do.
Still, I don't know how he expects to complete this story. He's says before he expects it to take at least 6 volumes to tell, with Chapter 3 being the end of Volume 1. This is gonna be the Hunter x Hunter of H Manga or something. Else, prepare to see the characters spend a lot of real time years in a boat.
