Dialogue/Narration in hentai
How do you feel about those silly lines and over the top exposition you often find in Japanese erotic materials? Do they turn you off or they enhance the eroticsm instead?

I fucking love it. I started consuming erotic material through novels, so dialogue (whether spoken or written) and narration enhance the experience a lot.

i thought it's just what you expect when you're reading hentai. if it doesn't turn me on it's at least ridiculous enough to be funny, which is why the dialogue is such a meme. i shouldn't be surprised they have fun with it over there

Kind of related, I like the look of untranslated sound effects better than redraws, but they tend to be ridiculously descriptive or expressive once you see the patterns, so you're missing out if they're not translated in any way

based SFX composition enjoyer

alternatively just learn to read hiragana/katakana so you can look up the sounds. that's what I did to translate stuff on boorus. jyururu is blowjob slurping, dopyu is cumming, kupaa is pussy spreading, etc.
enhances the experience once you recognize it IMO

Particularly if it's not obvious otherwise that someone is orgasming, ejaculating etc. Sometimes only the sound effects convey that clearly and muddling them up has affected how translations read vs the raws
