The napoleonic wars are the most civilized great war in history. Napoleon got into power by doing the enlightenment but without the crazy stuff and brought enlightenment principles to countries all over Europe which stuck even after he left and after he lost he just got sent into exile with France not getting destroyed by the other powers or his principles being totally abandoned, the victors instead created a balance of powers that France could be a part of and eventually they all adopted classical liberalism in one form or another. WW2 is the exact oppsite. First Germany was already getting excessively punished by the victors of WW1 which then makes them chud out and decide on genociding half of Europe and after they lose the victors let Russians rape half the country and genocide the Germans in eastern Europe, then they kill all the elites under a false pretense of justice (even though you can't justly persecute someone for doing things that weren't crimes when they did it), with mossad even hunting down nazis decades afterwards, and then they go so crazy about erradicating everything to do with national socialism that they needlessly crippled themselves during the cold war with things like abandoning their own colonies, even those where settlers were willing to fight without needing much outside help like in Rhodesia, due to not wanting to be seen as nazis.
