But here is an actual graph of genetic clusters. As you can see Southern Europeans are grouped together with Middle Easterners instead of Northern Europeans because they are actually closer to them. There is no way you can insist that there is such a thing as a European race in this highly overlapping result where Levantines are almost tangential to southern Euros unless you are committed to saying there are over 100 different races.

Just like an average Southern European would stand out in Scandinavia, a typical Middle Easterner would stand out in Southern Europe.
