Roman Catholic Pope
What do you think of the new Catholic Pope? Is Pope Leo XIV performing faithfully to his denomination, or does he appear to be undermining it? What do you think of him if you are not Catholic?

The best popes are within the pre-Council II, unfortunately. We've heard a lot of nonsense from Francis, and in the beginning Leo was grounded, but then he wants the social appeal of everyone, which is the antithesis of Catholicism. Radicalism is dead, and that's a problem.

With current state of Anglicans and Roman Catholics, I'm starting to think the Orthodox were right.

He's the perfect Pope for an increasingly nonwhite church: a liberal boomer who's focused on placating hordes of nonwhites so the church doesn't instantly crumble.

Coming from an actual Catholic Country (the Philippines), most Catholics here love and support him. Just like every other Pope before him.

Doctrinal autism has always been irrelevant for many here. Filipinos are actual tradcaths and one of the Catholic Traditions is accepting the Pope as the infallible Church's head.

The Church never has a problem with nonwhites, and a focus on social justice goes back to the 19th century.

he has forsaken Christ and does not seek eternal life for the people that are of God

Look at that fly on his mitre. The Pope is a regent of Beelzebub.

Christjanity is an Asian religion. It has always been a nonwhite religion.

Until recently it was the religion of whites who form the body of Christ which sees enslaving non whites as benevolent mercy compared to the death they deserve. Unrecognizable, the christianity of today, compared to what it stood for even a few centuries ago.

I think the actions of Leo recently have been a tad bit concerning, but he has not crossed the rubicon into Francis behavior yet, and even if he does i do not think he is going to be worse than francis.

He will be the worst pope by far. He's relatively young and will have plenty of time to royally fuck up the church. Any pope with connections to South America with undoubledly be influenced by their retarded liberation theology bullshit. He's more of a Peruvian than American so expect it to show itself sooner or later.

Was anything Pope Francis said or did really considered liberal or even heretical by Catholic Church standards, or was he more of a chronic fence-sitter and preferred to present ambiguous platitudes with little substances?

Weak faithless liberal pope. So basically an average post-vatican 2 pope. I miss ratzinger, he was the only modern pope that had balls and actually believed in God.

At the time, Pope Benedict XVI was billed as a very conservative Pope, but was he really all that traditional? Succeeding Pope John Paul II might have done a number to the Papacy, almost requiring a slightly more liberal Pope to accommodate the changing tones of the Catholic Church to today's world.

I think fidicia supplicans (blessing of 2 individuals who are in a gay couple) was pretty bad even know technically the blessing would be for the end of the dissolution of their "relationship"

I feel like if he got thwacked sufficiently hard by some great global crisis he might pull a Pius IX and become very Trad and reactionary. He's got the theological chops for it with his intensive study of the Church Fathers.

Right now he feels like he's cruising for a bruising. He talks about "unity" and peace, and uniting the Church, it feels like God is just lining him up to suffer some enormous disillusioning defeat that permanently alters what he thought his papacy was going to be.

Francis always had bravado and a sense of self-direction that resisted the correction of events. Leo doesn't feel like that. Leo feels like he has a direction he wants but is not really strong enough to maintain it in the face of events derailing his agenda.

This part is actually insightful and I appreciate this gem

I was hoping an American-born pope would be a powerful critic of US foreign policy but he's too American to actually criticize it

>Filipos are actual tradcaths
>Priests blessing freemason symbols
>Relatively high freemasonry amongst the catholic laity
>Cardinal Tagle
We can twist words all day and night, but the Philippenes are not a 'tradcath' country. You just don't know what the term signifies.

Thanks for your posts. Do you really think there are obvious signs that Pope Leo XIV is starting to seem relatively inept, or is it too early to tell?

He criticises the US government plenty fine, some say too much.

You forgot the Cult of Saints too btw.

Your idea of """""Tradcaths""""" is the 4chan definition of one: sticking to dogma and doctrine like some scripture-obsessed Protestant.

Meanwhile actual Traditional Catholicism is treating the Catholic Faith as a folk religion, something that you adhere to because its part of your identity and your community's identity. The technicalities & Orthodoxy are largely irrelevant, the belonging and traditions are everything. In a way Filipinos behave and believe similarly like Medieval European Christians when it comes to religion.
