Both are capitalist economies with heavy state intervention that relies on class collaborationism, that is quite literally the entire economic basis of Italian fascism.

China also heavily embraces ethnonationalism akin to that of Italian fascism and justifies authoritarianism with the Confucian model which is no different from Mussolini arguing that authoritarianism was somehow more “efficient” than democracy. Modern China is functionally no different from Fascist Italy.

I really suggest you read up on him, they tried to make him their bitch by having him become the secretary which has zero prestige and power but he ended up making the position the most powerful position in the USSR and all the communist system.
The secret to his success if I have to sum it up is simply hard work and not being a sperg. He was on the commie cause from day one, didn't ride anyone's tailcoat. Hustle and did everything while Bolshevik was still an obscure club hunted by the government, did he gave up during more than a decade of suffering, no?
Then Bolshevik took over, they saw his talents in being a fixers who got things done but not much of an intellectual. He was made the general secretary because they thought it was all paperwork, but Stalin was able to make use of its the position's underrated power and basically bureaucratize the whole Bolshevik system to his advantage, before the Bolshevik was run by degree from a clique of old Bolsheviks.
