The only way to stop racism is to not talk about it, even in opposition, because it further enflames and strengthens the perception of it as a problem that really needs dealing with for both sides. If you just refuse to talk about it, you do not give the racist incentive to say his ideas out loud and finds other ways to engage with his ideological opponents.

I don’t agree even respectful open dialogue about by a racist is always in bad faith and he only uses it to validate himself. Completely shutting down at the very mention of anything about race not only lessens the relevance of these issues, but also makes the minorities more in tune with the rest of the society in terms of participation because debates and discussions about race doesn’t inhibit their self image and allows them to focus more on other things in their life.

Racism doesn't exist and is predicated on stereotypes which are actually just real world observations. Preventing the discussion of these stereotypes stops any really social growth. I’m OP, I made this thread to tell liberals and progressives what I think and I hope to make a positive difference with that.
