anyways, Hell is commensurate to your own sins. It is worse if you're a worse sinner.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that Hell is ever as nice as say, "Limbo" from Dante's Inferno. But the concept of degrees of damnation is biblical.

I think conceptually, heaven is scary.
Even in a paradise I would not want to exist forever. I want to cease existing. Would it be cool to live 200 years, maybe 300 years? Sure! Would it be cool to live for 100 billion years? Fuck no! I'm sure someone out there has written a horror novel or a short story or something about people going to heaven and then after a few thousand years or so heaven is full of completely insane husks.

I am an atheist, so I don't believe in heaven or hell, but I also want to say that in most religions, heavens and hells aren't meant to be "fair" or "just" but rather exist more as forces of nature. Fairness doesn't exist as a concept if you make a tiny mistake while climbing a mountain and fall half a mile down and die. It's not "unjust" that you fell down the mountain, it's just nature.

Yh I can see where your coming from; it’s like with religion, at a bace level it can just be seen as cope, but at a deeper level it is much more frightening then non-existence, as you step into the void of uncertainty. Back when I was an edgy teenager this was one of the first thoughts I had that disillusioned me with christianity. It sounded like a kind of ego death or like a lobotomy, it scared me.

Why specifically the King James Version of the Bible? Why not the original Hebrew and Greek? Why is some soggy 1600s English King's version inerrant while a more modern translation based on older manuscripts is... le bad? Is it the all the old timey language like thee and thou that gets you going?

This is literally what Christianity teaches, the point is heaven is a gift your works lend nothing to achieve, they're as good as menstrual rags in God's sight. People only get there by the work God did for them.

Personally, Idk; you was just born there ig; just as you didn’t choose what family you was born in or what country you live in. Some things are just out of your control.

Some new age spirituals believe that you choice to live in a certain life so that you can experience living at that perspective or just learn something from that life (like if you got shot because you hit on some girl and her bf got pissed off at you, maybe that lesson might be to be aware on who you hit on) and then you retain these lessons subconsciously or in your soul.
