Efficient would have been to round them up town by town and executing them on the spot.
Taking them to a distant labor camp to wait uncertain amounts of time before being shipped to yet another camp where they'd be killed is just a massive waste of resources. Just how much manpower did they even contribute to the war effort in practice? Fuck all?
Even if you want to make the point keeping it all secret, just putting them all on the train and gassing them in there would have been enough. Could have even used the train's exhaust, then dropped the bodies off at the camp for disposal.
Hell, why even bother with cremation? Just burn the bodies to the point where they won't promote sickness and leave the rest in a pile, you can keep secrecy by just building a guarded perimeter around it.
That's without considering all the fucking around before the final solution, with planned deportations and all that shit.
