Pretty much. The previous Palmarian pope resigned in 2016 and married a woman who had formerly been a Palmarian nun. He also publicly discredited the church and declared that it had been a hoax from the start. In 2018 the former Palmarian pope and his wife also attempted to rob the Palmarian cathedral.
It did not stop Palmarians from just picking a new pope and keeping up like nothing happened though.

They were founded by someone who was one of the best Archbishops of the Church. They have serious theologians.
