Lol. The history of hymns is interesting. Why is playing the same hillsong tracks every sunday ok but repeating catholic prayers is bad? Historically when did this protestant cognitive dissonance occur? Zwingli?

Go light up your incense candles, make it smell like a french whorehouse, and pray to Mary you Catholic dweeb.

You're just proving my point, though ironically. You think 2,000 years of sacred tradition, and incense (which is biblical, check Exodus 30 since you're sola scriptura), and asking the Mother of God for her prayers is "dweeby," but you see no problem repeating the same 4-chord Hillsong track for 20 minutes.

I'll stick with the historic Church. You can keep your insults; it just shows the spiritual poverty of your 500-year-old heresy.

Your whole OP is low effort bait.
Garbage in, garbage out.

Still waiting for someone to actually answer the question instead of crying about the OP. If you can't handle a basic historical question, just say that.

>repeating catholic prayers is bad?
Is this another episode of "papist pretends not to have common sense to justify false worship"? Saying the same prayer twice in two weeks is not the same thing as repeating yourself over and over and over again

People haven't been worshipping Mary and burning incense for 2,000 years.
>b-but Hillsong
Go look at a traditional Reformed liturgy and stop coping.

Jesus didn't say "Pray the Our Father". He said
"pray ye after this manner". As I understand it's intended to be like a template; not something necessarily to be repeated word for word.

ok so reading the same psalms isnt sinful only as long as you do it twice in two weeks. got it.

While Matthew says "pray like this," Luke's account is more direct. In Luke 11:2, when the disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray, He responds, "When you pray, say..." (Greek: legete). This implies a specific set of words to be used.
