I've read the KJV 1611 text skipping the apocrypha. It tooky me about 2 and a half years reading around one chapter a day. I'm now doing the same with the Orthodox Study Bible, I'm up through Joshua right now. It doesn't replace specific study but it's very good grounding. The devil will do all sorts of psychological things to prevent you from reading but in God all things are possible if you ask him.

Another thing that happens is even if you can't recall specifically every single detail it's very easy to tell when someone is maliciously or otherwise misconstrueing the text to get their agenda across. It happens more often than not here

Still don't think any of it happened but Job and the Gospels/Acts were particularly interesting and moving and Revelation is always really cool
Didn't realize how much of the Pentateuch/Torah was about the dimensions of their tent and how to offer various animals for sacrifice and big lists with hundreds of names
It also seems like Jews never read past the first five books since a lot of them don't know anything about David or Solomon, let alone all those other judges and kings

Those who claim to be Jews today have no connection to the ancient or Biblical Jews. They have nothing to do with the ancient Israel.

Also, those who claim to be Jews today do not place any real emphasis on the pentateuch or books of Moses at all. What they always refer to is the "Torah," which is a word that means "Law" in Hebrew. However, when the modern cult uses the word "Torah," they secretly mean the Babylonian Talmud, because that is sometimes called the "oral law," in contrast to the "written law" that is the pentateuch.

In reality, they are focused on the Babylonian Talmud, which they (wrongly) call the "Torah" and want you to think that's referring to something in the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Revelation 1:5

Once you are bought with the blood of Jesus Christ, you belong to Him, it's not your body anymore and if you use it the wrong way bad things will happen to you, but you won't lose salvation. You're supposed to use your body as a living sacrifice to God.
