Its a Protestant nation, not a Catholic one. I may be called to be kind to foreigners, but it doesn't mean the state needs to be? The government is not a religious institution and doesn't need to be for me to support it, and my support of how the government handles immigrants or other issues is unrelated to how I personally treat others.
