How come Simon/Teal line guy has such impressive art skills but isn't much very active online in comparision of years ago?
I know that he's an expert of gesture, 3d, line weight, every art fundamental you can think of, and i like the way how he uses them in his drawings, thing that i want to learn. Tho i am not a fan of how his drawings are oftenly pinups or something like that.
What are your opinions anons? I would like to hear it.

He works in animation, he's a legitimate professional. A person's social media activity and what they choose to share isn't representative of what they actually do.

The Gs, Es, and Ms are also noticably different, and Teal's letters tend to be straight while Hampton's tend to skew a bit and either rise/descend above/below the other letters.
It's doesn't take a handwriting expert to see a lot of differences here.

hes probably just busy. iirc he last posted in april. he posts a lot less on here too. the board has also gotten notably less productive and shittier so there's that. better to socialize/give tips to people on other platforms where you can make money/create job opportunities, with irl people, with friends of friends, than go on here and help complete strangers with 0 benefit and often no thanks.

Sure is. They say they're an expert at this and that and the more experienced among us roll our eyes. I would bet most artists who put in the work, and have the authority to give real critique probably just lurk so that they don't have to get entangled in a debate with /begs for simply telling them that the bar they've set for "expert illustrator/ painter" is ridiculously low and in fact an insult to all the artists aspiring to reach a level worthy of that title.

They have no clue and they're not humble enough to see that they are on the lower levels of competence and as such are not capable of evaluating whether something is made by a competent person or not.

Still if you can't see what I'm talking about. Or you can't even acknowledge that it is just objective reality then I'm just not talking to someone on my level.
As such any debate would be a waste of both of our times and the /beg/ would be better off actually painting and drawing. Learning.

It's not that the artist is bad or that the painting has no appeal but it's the claim that he's a master or an expert that is objectively false.
The painting is ok. It will certainly evoke inspiration and even awe of what is possible for someone still trying to climb that first hill but once you've climbed it you see there are hundreds more mountaintops ahead of you.
