Internationally speaking do you think people will feel nostalgia for the 2020s similar to how they feel nostalgic about the early 2000s even though people who actually lived through the early 2000s agree it was an awful soulless decade to live in?

it's just millennials feeling nostalgia for their youth, or zoomers being envious of them, since zoomers are obviously more isolated and freakish

People will feel nostalgic for any decade personally I'm starting to feel nostalgic for the early 2010's even though I was miserable during that time

I don't think mass culture is separated into these very distinct ranges like the 60s,70s, 80s anymore. Social media has effectively created hundreds of thousands of parallel cultures that all exist at the same time. I would say society has had no real cultural or aesthetic changes since about 2014 or 2015. Interested to see if it's still the same old slop in 2050 as it was in 2020. Culture is dead.

There was something very charming about the 2000s

Technologically similar to this time, but without all the social engineering and social media shit. The real world and the digital world were still very separate things

Idk I think there might be something about the 2020s that makes them fundamentally more depressing than the 2000s regardless of generation or nostalgia goggles. but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. Hm
