no, back in vanilla/tbc/wotlk the player base was mostly normal kids and young adults who enjoyed a good game as part of their normal life, these days it's entirely made up of autistic middle-aged fat losers who have no life outside of wow (and streamers)

My fav players back in 2004-2010 were Cokamine and Dopamine two burgers who moved to skandis with their mother. We played horde in tbc, ganked and raided a lot. There was also a ord hunter from netherlands called Didi who called everyone gypsy niggers, some Poles, some skandis, some brits. Was fun and never have I seen so much racism in my life even people who were good and applied to the guild were so bullied in test raids(if they were nonwhite) that they quitted. It was so much fucking fun for years though. Alc+ vent+ world pvp rocked

EverQuest was better and required more “skill”.

I played Season of Discovery last year with like 20 of my online friends. We had a huge guild and it was honestly one of the most fun I've ever had playing a game. The random people I'd also meet was great too. The vibes aren't dead!!

True, SoD was the most fun i ever had in Wow.
It helped that i was unemployed and could play alot. I also found a niche guild of fun based 4chan types.
Once that guild died and i got stuck playing with dads, i just slowly transitioned to raidlogging, eventually letting go just before the new raids came out. Ive not even seen a video of it after playing Sod for thousands of hours.
