They didn't like Iran's policy of oil nationalization because what is now BP had made most of the equipment they would use for their oil extraction and got butthurt and begged the US to help them stage a coup. The recent history of revolutions/coups in Iran have been because the British were greedy and begged the US to help them to get oil money.
